David Joseph | String Trio No. 2 | Score Video

Written for the first Melbourne International Chamber Music Competition in 1991, David Joseph’s String Trio No. 2 is scored for violin, viola, and cello. Like the earlier Concertino, the work draws inspiration from the natural world, particularly the sounds, patterns, and textures of a garden: birds, foliage, variegated colors, light and shade, and the changing “buzz” of the environment as it moves through the day. This live recording was made at Melba Hall, The University of Melbourne, and features the Holland Trio.
