WINTER A-FRAME | Howling Forest Wind & Snowbound Isolation | 10 Hours

It's getting dark in the mountains, and the wind hasn't let up all afternoon. There's a little A-frame tucked into the trees at the end of a snow-covered drive. A few lights are still burning inside, but beyond the windows, the forest is disappearing into the evening. The snow is deep, the road is quiet, and the nearest town feels a long way off. This is the kind of winter night when you can hear the weather moving through the woods long before it reaches you. There's a constant, low howl running through the landscape. It's deep and full, with layers of wind moving around the cabin and through the surrounding trees. Higher up, the treetops catch the stronger gusts, creating a broad, restless sound that rises and falls behind the heavier wind below. Every so often, thinner whistles drift through the background, almost disappearing before you can quite place them. I like the feeling of distance in this one. The wind isn't just one continuous noise. There's something happening close by, something moving through the trees farther away, and something higher and colder passing over the entire forest. And then there's that little cabin. I imagine someone has been there for a few days already. The driveway is buried, the firewood is stacked, and they've stopped thinking about when the weather might improve. There's nothing particularly dramatic about the evening. It's just winter doing what winter does, and a small house sitting quietly in the middle of it. Sometimes that's enough. This 10-hour winter soundscape features layered low howling winds, textured wind moving through the treetops, and distant high whistles. The atmosphere is steady, spacious, and deliberately understated, with the natural variations of the wind giving the night its own character. Settle in somewhere comfortable, turn the lights down, and spend a little time out in the winter woods. Thanks for being here. — Long Storm Jones #HowlingWind #WinterStorm #LongStormJones
