Spring Can Really Hang You Up The Most

Mario T. 所 眞理雄 (vo) and Yuichi Narita 成田祐一 (pf) A 1950's great standard jazz ballad written by Fran Landesman (lyrics) and Tommy Wolf (composition). Even though it’s spring, love hasn't budded yet this year—how melancholy it is, the lyrics say. The composition, structured to follow the lyrics, is also magnificent. It's been sung by many prominent singers including Ella Fitzgerald, Betty Carter, Sarah Vaughn, Carmen McRae. More recently, there is Michael Mayo’s marvelous rendition. I endeavored to sing it as faithfully as possible to the original lyrics and composition, maintaining a seemingly matter-of-fact tone on the surface whilst conveying rich emotion at a deeper level. Recorded on October 1, 2026, at Velera. 　 #mariot #yuichinarita #springcanreallyhangyouupthemost #franlandesman #tommywolf #velera
