Oasis Location: Madrid, Spain Venue: Palicio De La Communidad Date: 10th November 1997 Source: Audience Recording The second show in Spain is in the Palicio De La Communidad in Madrid. Theres does seem to be a feeling of tiredness in the air. Perhaps it’s just the recording (which in hindsight is a tad flat) but tempos of several songs here just drag, a major example being Magic Pie. In contrast to a show near the beginning of the tour, it’s quite noticeable. However it is still a decent performance, even if I feel the band take a while to really get the feel of the performance. The main takeaway of this show is the audience who are very receptive to the band (they seem to love Don’t Go Away) and sing along to many of the songs performed. Liam sounds pretty strong here, though his voice is still a bit shaky (he struggles a bit on Don’t Go Away) and though the band aren’t as energetic as I say, by It’s Getting Better (Man!!) the performance seems to pick up quite a bit more until the end of the night with some great playing by both Noel and Alan in particular.
