Recorded on Saturday, August 15, from 9 p.m. to midnight, and downtown Nashville had a little bit of everybody roaming around tonight. The Foo Fighters were playing the final concert ever at the old Nissan Stadium, Professional Bull Riders had another crowd pouring out of Bridgestone Arena, the Ryman had its own audience downtown courtesy of Maren Morris, and Lower Broadway was doing what Lower Broadway does every Saturday night. Different crowds, different reasons for being here, all eventually colliding under the same neon lights. I spend the night bouncing around downtown and the surrounding streets, checking out the late-night lines, party buses, police horses, packed sidewalks and the usual assortment of people who make downtown Nashville worth watching. Printers Alley and The Arcade both make appearances, Parking Lot Creeper Mode returns, and there are plenty of new faces enjoying a very busy summer Saturday night. And for the first time, I’m keeping receipts. The Streetwalkin’ Mileage Meter makes its debut tonight. I know these walks cover a lot of ground, but exactly how far am I wandering around downtown every weekend? We finally start finding out.
