Day 2: Scotland, Life in Limbo & Clearing My Head | Sonny Gets Lost

Day 2 of Sonny Gets Lost.... and this time I'm heading into Scotland. Yesterday I left home with no proper plan and headed into the Lake District. Today, armed with caffeine and still with absolutely no idea where I'm sleeping tonight, I carry on north into Scotland. But this episode becomes about more than just a road trip. I've mentioned that there's been a lot going on recently, and today I finally explain some of it. We had planned to move our entire family to Cyprus. The house was sold. The children's schools were arranged. Work plans were in place. Even the dog was getting ready to go. Then things changed. Problems at work meant the plan suddenly wasn't as straightforward as we'd expected. The move had to be delayed, the house sale had already gone too far to stop, plans changed repeatedly and suddenly the whole family was living in limbo. Add running businesses, injuries and normal family life into the mix and, eventually, my head just needed some space. That's really what Sonny Gets Lost is about. I'm not running away from anything. I'm taking a few days to slow everything down, spend some time outside, think properly and hopefully go home in a better place to deal with everything waiting for me. Along the way today there's some incredible Scottish scenery, a beach I absolutely wasn't expecting, food in Kippford and, after yesterday's £50 hotel, I've apparently decided to go slightly more upmarket tonight. 😂 Welcome to Day 2 of Sonny Gets Lost.
