Royal Pistachio French Toast

Khushbu Shaw, the author of Amrikan: 125 Recipes from the Indian American Diaspora, stops by the studio to cook her decadent recipe for Shahi Tukda French Toast. As the name suggests, this recipe takes inspiration from shahi tukda, an Indian dessert (often described as "Indian bread pudding") dating back to the 1600s that was created for and fed to royals. Khushbu always felt like it had more of a French toast vibe, so that's what she transformed it into.
