A complete IELTS Speaking mock test in the order of the real exam, with a British examiner and one candidate who answers every question at Band 9, and the phrases that lift each answer marked on screen. Part 1 has ten questions on three topics: her working day as a children's nurse and the bag she carries, the mirrors at home and an old superstition, and staying up late. Part 2 is the cue card 'Describe a piece of local news that caught your interest': she tells the story of a lost wedding ring found in the sand at Bondi Beach, then answers one follow-up question. Part 3 is a discussion of five questions on the news and the media: how people keep up with current events, why we trust some news sources more than others, who should stop false stories online, local news against world news, and whether you can follow the news too closely. Every question and answer is original, written for this video, not taken from a Cambridge book. How to practise with this video 1. Pause after each examiner question and give your own answer out loud before you hear hers. 2. In Part 2, pause on the cue card, make notes for one minute, then speak for two minutes yourself. 3. Write down five of the marked phrases and use them in your own answers this week.
