Genesis 1 ends with "very good." Then in Genesis 2, in a garden with no sin and no death yet, God says for the first time that something is "not good." The man had God, a rich garden and work to do. So what was not good? To get there, we ask four questions in turn. What is a human made of? Where did God place him? What did God entrust to him in the garden? And what was not good? We look for the answers not in human theories but in other passages of Scripture.
