After missing the previous week because of the cold easterly winds I enjoyed a very peaceful session on a calm and deserted lake. My quarry was tench and I almost succeeded, but a hook pull robbed me. The bream were, however, quite obliging. I had two encounters with carp, both ending in a predictable way, with the carp in the reeds and not on the bank.
