Welcome to the next step in your Taekwondo journey! In this tutorial, we are turning up the intensity and breaking down Taegeuk Sam Jang (Taegeuk 3). This form introduces faster combinations and requires a sharp, focused energy, making it an exciting challenge as you progress through the ranks. 🥋 About Taegeuk 3 (Sam Jang) Taegeuk Sam Jang represents the principle of Ri, which symbolizes "Fire" and the "Sun." Fire is passionate, unpredictable, and full of energy, but it must be controlled to be useful. This form teaches you to harness your internal energy and deliver combinations with burning speed and crisp precision. It consists of 20 movements and is the form required to earn your Green stripe. 🔑 Key Techniques to Focus On • New Strikes: Knife Hand Neck Strike (Hansonnal Mok Chigi). Make sure your striking hand is sharp and your other hand pulls back sharply to your hip for maximum rotational power. • Combinations: Front Kick (Ap Chagi) followed immediately by Double Middle Punches (Dubon Jireugi). This is where the "fire" comes in—your punches should be lightning-fast and delivered with intense focus. • Stances: Walking Stance (Ap Seogi), Forward Stance (Ap Kubi), and the introduction of a stronger focus on keeping a solid base while transitioning through rapid upper-body movements. • Blocks: Low Block (Arae Makki) and Middle Inner Block (Momtong An Makki). Fuel your passion and keep pushing forward. The key to mastering Taegeuk 3 is balancing the explosive speed of your double punches with the solid, grounded control of your stances.
