Gilligan's Island (1964) Cast Then and Now 2026: Is Tina Louise Still Alive After 62 Years? Gilligan's Island (1964) cast then and now: here is what really happened to the seven castaways of the S.S. Minnow, more than sixty years after the show first aired on CBS. This video covers Bob Denver (Gilligan), Alan Hale Jr. (the Skipper), Jim Backus and Natalie Schafer (Thurston and Lovey Howell), Russell Johnson (the Professor), Dawn Wells (Mary Ann), and Tina Louise (Ginger Grant), the only member of the original cast still alive today. We go through each actor's career before and after the island, the real story behind a well-known mistake in the show's opening theme song, and the financial reality many 1960s television actors faced once their shows went into syndication. Along the way, you will also meet a few recurring guest stars who kept finding their way back to the lagoon over the years, including Hans Conried, Vito Scotti, and Phil Silvers, plus the two actresses who later stepped into the role of Ginger for television reunion movies. We also cover how 1960s rerun contracts affected the cast's earnings long after the show ended, including a public fundraising campaign that one castaway needed decades later to help cover medical and tax bills. This channel is dedicated to accurate, respectful cast retrospectives from classic American television and film, built on verified sources rather than guesswork about anyone's health or cause of death.
