Lord, Fill Me Again When I Have Nothing Left | Morning Prayer for Strength

A morning prayer for strength when you are worn out, asking God to give the weary soul its breath back, fill us again, and carry us through the middle stretch. What if getting your breath back does not have to wait until you get home? Some mornings getting up is most of the strength we had. We can love our life and still be worn out by it. This prayer goes to scripture for what God does with tired people: a king's company that caught its breath on a hard road, a promise to anybody worn thin by doing good, disciples sent to rest after their best weeks, an inside renewed day by day, and three unexpected men who walked out with beds and bread because they could see a tired crowd. SCRIPTURES IN THIS PRAYER 2 Samuel 16:14 "And the king, and all the people that were with him, came weary, and refreshed themselves there." Galatians 6:9 "And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not." Mark 6:31 "And he said unto them, Come ye yourselves apart into a desert place, and rest a while: for there were many coming and going, and they had no leisure so much as to eat." 2 Corinthians 4:16 "For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day." 2 Samuel 17:29 "And honey, and butter, and sheep, and cheese of kine, for David, and for the people that were with him, to eat: for they said, The people is hungry, and weary, and thirsty, in the wilderness." 2 Corinthians 9:10 (in the prayer) "Now he that ministereth seed to the sower both minister bread for your food, and multiply your seed sown, and increase the fruits of your righteousness." Numbers 6:24, 25, 26 (the blessing) "The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace."
