Hike the Elusive EDFRO Creek Preserve Trail, Saxon, WA -June

I actually ended up crawling under the barricade to get to the trail head. Skookum Creek is beautiful and clean, coming off the North Cascade Mountains. I did exclaim this out loud, so turned the volume down, ha ha. The Whatcom Land Trust Preserve is 135 acres then DNR lands, already clear-cut forested 15 years ago. I only walked part of the trail, for unknown reasons…then bushwhacked down to the river bank to chill awhile in the 85 degree heat. I will return to explore more…I added some cooling river footage at the end. Skookum Creek merges with the South Fork Nooksack at this juncture. ☺️🌿 -I guess I wanted to be cautious around a creek named ‘Skookum’.
