Chansi Gong & Hunyuan Gong | Guided Qigong Combo Set Join me for a guided Qigong practice combining Chansi Gong (Silk Reeling Qigong) and Hunyuan Gong, two foundational practices of Hunyuan Taiji and traditional Daoist internal martial arts. These complementary systems help develop internal connection, release unnecessary muscular tension, improve joint mobility, cultivate Qi, and deepen your understanding of the principles that make Tai Chi and Qigong so profound. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced practitioner, this combination offers an opportunity to refine your movement, deepen your awareness, and cultivate greater balance, vitality, and internal harmony. What Is Chansi Gong? Chansi Gong (纏絲功) translates to Silk Reeling Skill. This practice uses continuous spiraling movements to develop whole-body coordination, unwind habitual patterns of tension, open the joints, and cultivate the internal connections essential to authentic Tai Chi. Rather than relying on muscular force, Chansi Gong teaches us to develop stability through softness, allowing movement to become increasingly integrated, fluid, and effortless. What Is Hunyuan Gong? Hunyuan Gong (混元功) is a traditional Qigong system associated with Hunyuan Taiji, emphasizing internal cultivation, relaxation, breath, awareness, and the development of Qi. The practice combines gentle movements, mindful breathing, and the proper use of intention (Yi) to cultivate internal awareness and support the development of the Dantian. Why Combine These Practices? Qigong is the root. Tai Chi is the flower. Hunyuan Gong emphasizes internal cultivation, while Chansi Gong helps integrate those qualities into spiraling, whole-body movement. Together, these practices explore: Releasing unnecessary muscular tension through Song Improving flexibility, joint mobility, and coordination Developing the lower Dantian and internal awareness Cultivating Qi through movement, breath, and intention Developing internal structure and whole-body connection Refining the principles of Soft, Long, Round, and Return Supporting relaxation, balance, and vitality About Your Instructor I’m Luke Weiss, founder of Beyond Body Healing Arts and the Phoenix Embodiment Method.
