A Rainy Drive Through Old Town Streets and Mountain Roads in Japan | POV Kei Car

A rainy Saturday afternoon drive through old town streets and mountain roads in rural Japan. This drive begins where a previous journey ended, at a small rest stop on the other side of the mountains. On the way back, whenever possible, I choose the older local roads instead of simply staying on the newer main roads. These routes take us through quiet streets and older neighborhoods where traces of a once-livelier town can still be seen. Some of the buildings and streets give a glimpse of what this small town may have felt like when there were more people and activity here. After leaving the town behind, we head back into the mountains and continue along the wet, winding roads in the rain. And once again, the drive ends at another small rest stop in the mountains — apparently, restroom breaks have become part of the journey. 😊 There are no famous destinations on this drive. Just old streets, quiet communities, rainy mountain roads, and another glimpse of everyday rural Japan.
