In this session, Bodie plays a simple counting game (the "1-2-3 pattern game") where hearing "three" always means a treat is coming. Over time, just starting to count can pull a distracted dog back to you before you lose them to a smell, squirrel, or other dog. Then he practices two eye-contact games ("Up/Down" and "Ping Pong") that reward him for choosing to look at you, and the predictable rules of these games help anxious or easily excited dogs feel calmer. We also cover why teenage dogs may start marking (normal, not "dominance"), why you might pick different words than counting if you have kids at home, and why having a clear "all done" cue tells your dog when the game is over.
