Woody - Handling Puppy Biting & Teaching “Drop It” Through Play (Management, Toy Exchange)

In this session, puppy Woody shows how to handle the "land shark" stage. We cover why mouthy, wild behavior usually means a puppy is overtired (they need 18 to 20 hours of sleep a day) or has unmet needs, and how setting up a safe space like a pen or crate (management) prevents bad habits, since puppies tend to grow into behaviors rather than out of them. Then we use two tug toys to teach him to let go on cue ("drop it") without ending the game, so letting go becomes something he's happy to do rather than a fight.
