What does an ordinary morning in Shanghai really look like?
On the morning of the Mid-Autumn Festival, I started walking through Yangpu District at 6:30 AM to experience a side of Shanghai that tourists rarely see.
No famous landmarks. No luxury shopping malls. No neon lights.
Just everyday Shanghai.
Street vendors preparing breakfast, sizzling jianbing on a hot griddle, elderly residents pushing shopping carts through the morning market, locals lining up for roast duck, and ordinary people buying vegetables, meat and daily necessities at the supermarket.
In this 4K walking tour, I want to show you what life in Shanghai looks like beyond the skyscrapers — and how much everyday food actually costs.
For many people around the world, Shanghai is known as one of China's most modern and expensive cities. But what does an ordinary morning meal cost? How much are vegetables and meat? What does a typical supermarket look like?
Walk with me and discover the quieter, more ordinary side of Shanghai.
This is not a tourist attraction.
This is everyday life in China.
Happy Mid-Autumn Festival! 🥮 CN
