Dimension X - "Dwellers in Silence" (Old Time Radio, 1951)

Dimension X presents “Dwellers in Silence,” episode 40, originally broadcast July 19, 1951. This NBC science-fiction drama adapts Ray Bradbury’s Mars story, later collected as “The Long Years” in The Martian Chronicles. Twenty years after humanity’s survivors have established colonies on Mars, Captain Parsons leads an expedition back to war-ravaged Earth. In an eerily illuminated, seemingly deserted city, the travelers find signs that challenge everything they expected to discover. Adapted by George Lefferts, the episode features Peter Capell as Captain Parsons and Bill Griffis as Dr. Hathaway. Dimension X presents the original broadcast with a newly produced contextual introduction, a short closing announcement, and gently cleaned/mastered audio for a more consistent listening experience.
