Dimension X - "Shanghied" (Old Time Radio, 1950)

Dimension X presents “Shanghied,” episode 29, originally broadcast on NBC on November 12, 1950. Written as an original radio story by Ernest Kinoy and directed by Edward King, the episode features John Sylvester, Bill Griffis, Bill Zuckert, and Joe DeSantis. On the eve of his wedding in 1987 Boston, wealthy heir Jeff Coffin awakens aboard a Coffin-owned deep-space freighter headed for Centaurus. Cut off from Earth and forced into the ship’s rigid world of command, labor, and survival, he must confront the realities of a long voyage among a crew with little room for dissent. Dimension X presents the original broadcast with a newly produced contextual introduction, a short closing announcement, and gently cleaned/mastered audio for a more consistent listening experience.
