Family History is for YOU!

Do you think family history just isn’t your thing? I love board games, and whenever someone tells me they don’t like board games, I always wonder if they simply haven’t found the game they love yet. I think family history can be the same. Family history is so much bigger than genealogy, family trees, names, dates, and searching old records. It can be cooking and preserving family recipes, taking photographs, creating art, recording memories, interviewing grandparents, exploring the places your family came from, using technology, researching ancestors, keeping traditions alive, and telling the stories that matter to your family. In this video, we’re exploring the many different ways you can be involved in family history and how it can look different for kids, teenagers, adults, and grandparents. Because you don’t have to love every part of family history. You just have to find the part that you love. Maybe instead of asking, “How do I get my family interested in family history?” we can start asking, “What kind of family history would interest them?” There is a place for everyone.
