The crackle of a rare silk kimono — asmr japanese tea ceremony no talking, recorded in a quiet room in Japan.
This time I am wearing Shioji tsumugi, a rare kind of hand-woven tsumugi silk that you seldom see even in Japan. Listen closely: as I move, it rustles and gives off small, dry crackles and pops — a sound smooth silk never makes. The shelf is made of kiri, paulownia wood, so listen too for the moment porcelain touches the soft wood. No whispering, no music, no words — just one bowl of tea, from folding the silk cloth to refilling the water jar at the end.
🎧 Headphones recommended. The crackle of the kimono is quiet, so it is easiest to hear with headphones.
