Rayman 30th Anniversary Edition (PS5 Pro) - Even Rewind Couldn't Save Me!

Rayman was one of the first PlayStation games I ever owned, but I never got very far in it. The first world? Finished. The bonus stage? Never. The Music World? That level destroyed me back in the day. So when the Rayman 30th Anniversary Edition arrived with modern accessibility features like rewind, infinite retries, extra health, and other helpful options, I thought this might finally be my chance to see more of the game. Before jumping into the original adventure, I also checked out the Super Nintendo prototype demo included in the collection. It is a fascinating glimpse into Rayman's early development, even if it is only a short proof of concept. Then came the original game... and reality hit me hard. The infamous bonus stage was still incredibly difficult. Not because of enemies, but because of the precise platforming. One wrong landing and Rayman gets another swimming lesson... which is unfortunate because Rayman can't swim! Even with rewind available, I quickly discovered that some sections still demand pixel-perfect jumps and split-second decisions. Eventually I reached the point where I realized that modern conveniences cannot replace decades of platforming skill. This collection is a wonderful celebration of Rayman's history, packed with interviews, development material, prototypes and behind-the-scenes content. As a historical retrospective, it is fantastic.
