On January 11, 1902, a deputy marshal in Cheyenne offered Tom Horn a job in Montana. There was no job. Behind a locked door, a stenographer wrote down everything Horn said about a fourteen-year-old boy shot near a gate. Those notes sent him to his death. Ninety years later, a jury heard his case again, and found him not guilty.
