In this tutorial, we will explore the parametric modeling mindset by building a spiral ribbed vase entirely from a single Curve Line using Geometry Nodes in Blender. The final mesh is strictly clean and perfectly ready for 3D printing.
Key technical nodes and workflows covered:
Profile Shaping: Pushing the mesh boundary using the Curve Star profile.
Twist Control: Manipulating the rotation via the Set Curve Tilt node combined with the Spline Parameter.
Form Smoothing: Removing harsh edges and smoothing the topology using the Blur Attribute node (Float domain).
Thickness & Cleanup: Generating accurate wall thickness with Extrude Mesh and optimizing overlapping vertices using Merge by Distance.
Technical Note: Pay close attention to the section where I handle the length unit conversion (Meters to Millimeters) strictly within the node tree. This is crucial to avoid calculation errors and broken topology when manipulating parametric scale.
