EP DESK, PASIGHAT, August 1: In a major development for the apex tribal body of the Adi community, the Public Referendum Rally-II convened at Gidi Notko in Pasighat to address organizational structure and approve significant constitutional updates for the Adi Bane Kebang (ABK). The general assembly was held under the chairmanship of Shri Bompang Tayeng, Retired Principal, and drew extensive participation from public leaders, intellectuals, Gaon Burahs, government officers, and delegates representing various Opin Buang and Dolung-Banggo units across the region. The assembly formally reconstituted the central executive leadership following previous constitutional violations. Invoking Article 29.2, the house declared the cessation and disqualification of the former executive body after twenty-nine out of forty-five Central Executive Body members submitted their resignations on July 13, 2026. To restore administrative stability and oversee the immediate handover of official records, keys, and community assets, the assembly unanimously selected Shri Thomas Borang as the new ABK President and Shri Jirbo Jamoh as the new ABK General Secretary.
