A MURDERER IN PRISON TOLD ME THIS ABOUT ABRAHAM | Dag Heward-Mills

Dag Heward-Mills lays out what he calls the four withouts in the Bible - without faith you cannot please God, without holiness you cannot see Him, without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness, without Christ you can do nothing. He illustrates it with a funny story about hosting guests who felt they hadn't really eaten unless they got their jollof or fufu, no matter what else was on the table - that's how faith works with God, nothing else substitutes. Then he turns to Hebrews 11 and names the Bible's so-called hall of faith: Noah with a drinking problem, Abraham who nearly killed his own son (he compares him to a man he met in prison for murder), Moses who was wanted for murder, and Rahab the prostitute. His point - God wasn't rewarding perfect people, He was rewarding faith. It closes with Romans 10:9-10: believe in your heart, confess with your mouth, and you are saved.
