THE PLAIN SISTER WHO WON THE KING'S HEART | Dag Heward-Mills

Dag Heward-Mills tells the remarkable true story of Countess Mancini, whose four beautiful daughters all failed to win King Louis XIV. It was the plain fifth sister, Marie, who studied what the king actually cared about - war, adventure, danger - and learned to speak his language. To everyone's horror, the king fell in love with her. He connects this to Esther winning the king's heart, to Joseph earning his father's colored coat by being loyal to the family business, and to how Jesus reserved his greatest miracles for his closest circle. The takeaway is striking: becoming God's favorite is less about outward impressions and more about genuinely caring what He wants.
