School Day in the Life of a Muslim Mum of 7 | Our Daily Routine

Spend a typical school day with me as a Muslim mum of seven! ❤️ With some of the children at school, some at college and some still at home, our weekdays can get pretty busy! In this vlog I'm sharing what a normal school day looks like for our family — from Fajr and the morning school run to breakfast, a rainy walk, a little Aldi shop, lunch, prayers, school pick-up and getting everyone fed. I'm also sharing some of those little moments I enjoy during a busy day, including buying myself some flowers, enjoying a quiet lunch and catching up on a little work while the younger children nap. After school I make the kids some quick pizza muffins before preparing an easy Keema Aloo (mince and potato curry) for dinner. I've included the recipe below if you'd like to try it. ❤️ Keema Aloo (Mince & Potato Curry) Ingredients 500g lamb mince 600g potatoes, quartered 2 medium onions, finely diced 4 tomatoes, diced Sunflower oil, for cooking 1/2 tablespoon salt 1 tablespoon garlic & ginger paste 1 tablespoon ground cumin 1 tablespoon ground coriander 1 tablespoon garam masala 1 tablespoon ground turmeric 1/2 teaspoon red chilli powder 1 teaspoon cumin seeds 500ml water Coriander to garnish Method Add a little oil and the lamb mince to a pan over a medium heat. Cook until the mince has browned. Stir in the onions and cook until soft and translucent. Add the garlic and ginger paste followed by the salt and spices. Add the diced tomatoes, stirring regularly, and cook for around 5 minutes or until softened. Add the potatoes and water and bring to the boil. Turn the heat down to low, cover the pan with a lid and allow the curry to cook for approximately 20–25 minutes. Garnish with freshly chopped coriander. Serve with rice, chapati or naan.
