Griffs Magic Theatre 30th September 2026

Welcome back to Griff’s Magic Theatre, where 6 might be 9, the fairies are pink, and the chap giving directions is a Zig Zag Wanderer. This week’s selection takes us through psychedelia, rock, blues and a few places where the bus service is probably unreliable. There are two helpings of The Jimi Hendrix Experience, a double dose of XTC, and appearances from The Doors, The Hollies, Traffic and Captain Beefheart - a man you’d trust to make an interesting record, if perhaps not to organise your filing cabinet. Steve Hillage brings the Hurdy Gurdy Man, Be Bop Deluxe supply the Ships In The Night, and Quantum Jump introduce The Lone Ranger. Quite how everybody’s getting home afterwards is anybody’s guess. Twenty tracks, familiar favourites and a few less travelled musical paths. Put the kettle on, settle in, and let Griff rummage through the record collection. Whatever comes out next, it’s unlikely to be boring.
