Oh! Frenchy by Fats Waller (1939 rec., 1944, Victor 78 RPM)

"Oh! Frenchy" by Fats Waller and His Rhythm, recorded in 1939 and issued here on Victor 20-1595 (1944), backed with "It's a Sin to Tell a Lie." Fats on vocal and piano, from the original shellac. An original 78 rpm shellac record, played straight from the disc on a real turntable, so you hear the music the way listeners did when it was new. No remastering, no noise reduction, just the sound of the original pressing, surface noise and all. Duffy's Den posts a new 78 every day: big band, swing, crooners, jazz, country, polka, Hawaiian, novelty records, and holiday classics from the 1920s through the 1950s.
