#210 Barnwell - Thursday 6 Aug 2026

A return trip to Barnwell with the hope of a tench but unfortunately the rudd made it difficult to get a bait to the bottom, and even when I succeeded it was a rudd that found it. So no tench but quite a few rudd. They weren't tiddlers but after a while I had caught enough of them 🙂. The gusty wind made float fishing difficult even after I had changed to float-leger. So I packed up a bit earlier than planned and had a walk around the lake, also checking out the Nene backstream, where a few decent chub were spotted.
