Symphonic/Cyberpunk Metal: Scipio - The New against The Old

A tactical genius who eclipsed the legends of the past, Scipio turned the Mediterranean into a Roman lake and carried the Republic’s vengeance to the heart of Africa. The architect of Zama, he is the man who mastered the art of war to end an era of fire and blood. -------- Lyrics: Italy's in flames An old hero stalks his prey At Cannae he set his reign Yet Virtus will not fail Scipio rose this day 25 years to his name A clear path to win this game Ready to challenge Rome's bane His plan something that seems insane To move the army on Carthage's plain All this to change the rules of the game And force Hannibal to go back again From Cannae to Zama Mastery of war Geniuses colliding Plans being drawn He challenged a legend To build one of his own Once again in history The new against the old After Iberia a legend's core Then back to Rome to plan the war The Senate, Roman lore His pleas for action can't ignore So he lands on Africa's shore Over its defenses he soars Carthage has seen all this before Hastily they call Hannibal home Zama's field sets the score Of this game with no board The Punic strength is no more The old hero bested in war From Cannae to Zama Mastery of war Geniuses colliding Plans being drawn He challenged a legend To build one of his own Once again in history The new against the old Scipio came home But the match was not done Politics are a vicious game And they quickly set him to blame From Cannae to Zama Mastery of war Geniuses colliding Plans being drawn He challenged a legend To build one of his own Once again in history The new against the old From Cannae to Zama Mastery of war Geniuses colliding Plans being drawn He challenged a legend To build one of his own Once again in history The new against the old Yet history rights the wrongs His name is still renowned Italy her head still adorns With the helm of this hero of Rome --------- If the story of Scipio inspired you, join the Phalanx.
