Around ₹1.75 lakh in cash, along with gold jewellery and a diamond ring, was reportedly stolen from the house. According to the initial information, three masked men were involved in the crime and fled the spot after carrying out the theft. The incident took place on the morning of August 30, 2026. At around 10:23 AM, Delhi Police received a PCR call regarding the theft. Soon after receiving the call, EO SI Prakash Kashyap of Rajouri Garden Police Station reached house number C-39 in Tagore Garden. When the police inspected the premises, the theft came to light. According to the complaint, ₹1.75 lakh in cash, one gold earring, one gold chain and one diamond ring were found missing from the house. The suspects allegedly entered the house, took the cash and valuables and escaped before anyone could stop them. The incident created panic in the locality, especially because the theft took place in a residential area during the morning hours. The police immediately began examining the circumstances surrounding the incident. A crime team was also called to the spot. The team inspected the house and collected relevant evidence. Following this, an e-FIR was registered at Rajouri Garden Police Station on the complaint of Kanchan Chadha, daughter of Amar Nath Lamba. The case has been registered as e-FIR No. 473/2026 dated August 30, 2026, under Sections 305 and 331(4) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The investigation has now been taken up by the police. The biggest focus for investigators right now is identifying the three masked suspects. Police are checking CCTV cameras installed in and around the Tagore Garden area to trace their movements. Investigators are trying to establish where the suspects came from, which route they took after the theft and how they managed to escape. The CCTV footage could prove crucial in identifying the accused and understanding exactly how the crime was executed. Police are also looking at the possibility that the house may have been surveyed or watched before the theft, although this will have to be established during the investigation. For now, the investigation is underway and the police are working on multiple leads. The theft has raised fresh concerns among residents about security in the area. With three masked men allegedly carrying out the crime and disappearing with cash and valuables, residents are now waiting to see how quickly the police manage to identify and track them down. The case has also attracted attention because the house belongs to the family of Congress leader Alka Lamba.
