This is one of the most talked about and reviewed whiskies that you cant have. There are those that are part of the Springbank cult following. And there are those that are the critics of all that Springbank hype. This is a distillery that has been able to benefit from all the hype and the enigma of too low a production to meet the world demand. It reminds me of the similar hype that Pappy Van Winkle bourbon gets with it's scarcity, the more people want it the harder it is to find. I have been to Springbank and it is not a big distillery or operation. The distillery is in fact a piece of history. I was lucky enough to have been given the opportunity to video a tour of the distillery. Springbank seems to be a distillery trying to hang on to the past; a distillery that is frozen in time. Can that last? Will their whiskies continue to be desperately sought after around the world? The Springbank 10 is the staple and most popular Springbank whisky. I was at first reluctant to do this video because of the sheer volume of reviews that are out there on the Springbank whiskies including the "Ten". I was talked into it one evening by my friends after treating them to some Campbeltown whiskies. It's time for us to pour a dram and lets get into this video. Slàinte mhath!
