X Minus One - "Colony" (Old Time Radio, 1956)

X Minus One presents “Colony,” episode 70, originally broadcast on NBC on October 10, 1956. This science-fiction drama was adapted by Ernest Kinoy from Philip K. Dick’s 1953 novelette “Colony.” A Colonial Administration survey team reaches Planet Blue, a promising world for human settlement. Its inviting terrain and abundant resources seem ideal, but biosurvey chief Major Lawrence Hall is troubled by one impossible detail: the complete absence of native life. As the expedition presses forward under Commander Stella Morrison, ordinary equipment begins to seem anything but harmless. Old Time Retro Radio presents the original broadcast with a newly produced contextual introduction, a short closing announcement, and gently cleaned/mastered audio for a more consistent listening experience.
