Disasters and Shenanigans: Featuring the Vanes, Save the Princess, and more    • Disasters and Shenanigans   [Spoken Intro] Ranged combat is not about standing far away. It is about control. You choose the distance. You choose the angle. You choose where the enemy is allowed to stand. If someone else chooses those things for you, you have already made a mistake. [Verse 1] Know your range and know your cover, Know the ground before you cast, Keep a clear line to your target, Know your exit before the blast. Never chase a melee fighter Just because they charged ahead. If they sprint beyond your firing line, That is their mistake instead. Do not follow. Do not improvise. Do not surrender your position. A ranged specialist survives By making disciplined decisions. [Chorus] Maintain your distance, Control the field. Keep your angles, Never yield. Let the melee find the danger, You decide when it ends. And if they turn around and shout, "I've had an idea—" Do not ask what it is. [Verse 2] Melee combatants have a tendency to mistake enthusiasm for tactical planning. [Chorus] Maintain your distance, Control the field. Theory is useful When properly wielded Do not let curiosity Pull you somewhere you should not be. And never confuse "This should not work" With "I have to see." [Final Chorus] Maintain your distance, That is the rule. Control the battlefield, Keep your head cool. Never follow reckless instincts Just because the theory's neat. And if the same melee combatant Keeps finding reasons to come near— Remember: The greatest threat to disciplined positioning... Is letting someone else Choose the ground Beneath your feet
