JUDGE EXPOSES 4 COPS — ARREST COMPLETELY COLLAPSES!
Today's case is People of Michigan v. Tanea Tubbs. On June 8, 2024, four Detroit police officers noticed a truck parked at a gas station without a license plate. But instead of first approaching the driver and investigating, the officers went straight to the vehicle and began searching it as they prepared to tow it.
When Tanea Tubbs came outside and saw what was happening, she confronted the officers. She became angry, raised her voice, and argued with them. What followed was an arrest and multiple charges—including disobeying a lawful order, disorderly conduct, and tickets related to the vehicle's plate, license, and insurance.
Judge Ramsey-Heath then reviewed the bodycam footage and examined each charge individually. The court found no clear lawful order that Tubbs could have disobeyed. Her angry words and raised voice did not, by themselves, establish the charged offense. More importantly, the judge found that the officers had skipped key steps of the investigation before making the arrest.
The result was decisive: the court found no probable cause supporting the charges, and the case was dismissed.
