Verse 1 A crowd of thousands came to see The miracles of Galilee. The sun sank low on grassy ground, With no food near, no market found. John 6:1–2, 5, 10; Matt 14:15; Luke 9:12 Verse 2 Then Jesus said, “What can we buy To feed them all?” Philip’s reply: “Two hundred days of pay, and still Not bread enough this crowd to fill.” John 6:5, 7 Verse 3 Close by, a boy had barley bread, Five loaves, two fish. Then Andrew said, “Far too few for so large a throng, This little food won’t last for long.” John 6:8–9 Verse 4 A test for Philip. Jesus’ plan Was set before the meal began. He gave the word, and so they sat, Five thousand men. Just think of that! John 6:6, 10 Chorus Loaves and fishes, ever so small, In Jesus’ hands, enough for all. He takes what little we can bring, And multiplies it—praise the King! John 6:9, 11–13 Verse 5 He took the boy’s five loaves to share And thanked God for the food in prayer. His friends went round with bread and fish, As much as anyone could wish. John 6:11; Matt 14:19; Luke 9:16 Chorus Loaves and fishes, ever so small, In Jesus’ hands, enough for all. He takes what little we can bring, And multiplies it—praise the King! John 6:9, 11–13 Verse 6 The people ate, and every one Felt full before the meal was done. What Andrew thought was far too few Was plenty. Jesus saw it through. John 6:9, 11–12 Chorus Loaves and fishes, ever so small, In Jesus’ hands, enough for all. He takes what little we can bring, And multiplies it—praise the King! John 6:9, 11–13 Verse 7 He told His friends, “Collect and save.” Twelve baskets—more than that boy gave. No market near, no coin was paid, Yet from one lunch a feast He made. John 6:5, 7, 12–13 Chorus Loaves and fishes, ever so small, In Jesus’ hands, enough for all. He takes what little we can bring, And multiplies it—praise the King! John 6:9, 11–13
