Want bigger biceps without doing endless sets of curls? There are plenty of exercises that can train your biceps while also building your back, shoulders, grip, core, and overall strength.
In this video, I'm breaking down 5 exercises for bigger biceps that aren't traditional curls and showing you how I use them to get more training stimulus from every exercise.
Instead of adding curls to the end of every workout, you can use movements that train your biceps while accomplishing other things at the same time.
The 5 Exercises:
Pull-Ups - Train your biceps while building your back, grip, and core. I also cover bodyweight, weighted, and high-volume pull-up programming.
Mace Swings - Mace and club work can challenge the biceps isometrically while also training your shoulders, upper back, grip, and core.
Mace Curls / One-Arm Mace Work - A more biceps-focused way to use a mace while still getting the benefits of training with an unconventional implement.
Walking Kettlebell Curls - One of my favorite unconventional biceps exercises because you're not just training your biceps. Your shoulders, grip, and core are working too.
Sandbag Holds & Carries - Carrying a heavy sandbag forces you to constantly fight against the bag pulling away from you, creating a serious challenge for your grip, arms, and biceps.
The point isn't that bicep curls are bad. They're not.
The point is that you can get a lot more training economy by choosing exercises that train your biceps while also developing other qualities like grip strength, core strength, upper-body strength, and athleticism.
If you're tired of doing endless curls, try adding one of these exercises to your program and see how your biceps respond.
