A cozy little bake for a slow afternoon 🤎 This brown butter chocolate chip crumb loaf cake is soft, super moist, and easy to make. The brown butter adds a warm, nutty flavor, while the crunchy crumb topping gives it a little extra texture. It comes together quickly and is perfect with a cup of coffee or tea. So grab your ingredients and bake with me 🤎 Brown Butter Chocolate Chip Crumb Loaf Cake Makes 1 loaf 8 × 4-inch loaf pan Ingredients: Cake 180g all-purpose flour 1 1/2 tsp baking powder 1/2 tsp salt 115g (1/2 stick) brown butter 120g brown sugar 2 eggs 1 tsp vanilla 120g sour cream or Greek yogurt 120g chocolate chips, plus more for topping Crumb Topping 80g all-purpose flour 80g brown sugar 56g melted butter (1/4 stick) Instructions: Make the Brown Butter 1. Melt the butter in a light-colored pan over medium heat. Stir occasionally as the butter melts and begins to foam. Continue cooking until the milk solids turn golden brown and the butter smells nutty and fragrant. 2. Remove from the heat and pour into a bowl to stop the cooking. Add 1 tbsp of water to make up for the water lost while browning the butter. Let it cool until no longer hot before using. Make the Crumb Topping 1.Mix the flour and brown sugar together. Add the melted butter and mix until crumbly. 2. Place the crumb topping in the fridge while you make the cake batter. Make the Cake Batter 1. In a bowl, mix the cooled brown butter and brown sugar until combined. 2. Add the eggs, vanilla, and sour cream (or Greek yogurt), and mix until smooth. 3. Add the flour, baking powder, and salt and mix until about halfway combined. Add the chocolate chips and fold until the batter is just combined. 4. Pour the batter into a lined 8 × 4-inch loaf pan and spread evenly. Top with the chilled crumb mixture, breaking up any large pieces if needed. Add extra chocolate chips on top. 5. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 45–50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean or with a few moist crumbs. Let the loaf cool before slicing, and enjoy 🤎 Thank you for watching ♡ #brownbuttercake #chocolatechipcake #crumbcake #loafcake #cozybaking #bakewithme
