Chef Yia Vang heads to Taos Pueblo in New Mexico for a wild adventure filled with generations-old traditions, unexpected challenges, and an incredible outdoor feast. After meeting with members of the Pueblo community and learning about their connection to the land, Yia heads into the desert to try his hand at catching cottontail rabbits and jackrabbits. But despite two days of effort, catching dinner proves much harder than expected! Fortunately, his hosts have a few rabbits ready to cook, and the group comes together to prepare two very different meals. Yia makes jerk-spiced grilled rabbit with fresh mango salsa, while his hosts share a traditional rabbit stew featuring stone-ground cornmeal and wild celery. Along the way, Yia discovers the remarkable similarities between Hmong and Pueblo food traditions, from preserving ingredients to preparing meals passed down through generations. It's a celebration of food, culture, and the traditions that bring people together.
