I Lost Count of How Much Gold Came Out of This Quartz Vein | MOTHERLODE SAGA

I knew I had something good when the first target came out of this little quartz vein, but I wasn’t ready for what happened next. The detector just kept lighting up the same patch of virgin ground with four or five targets, then six or seven, then five more! On some of the rocks I could actually see the gold sticking out before I even had them completely free. Every time I thought I was getting to the end of it, there was another signal. Some of the pieces were small, some were surprisingly heavy and eventually I genuinely lost count of how many gold specimens had come out of the hole. The crazy part was that when I stopped filming, the quartz vein was still going. This is the kind of day that makes all the empty holes worth it. Metal detecting for gold and hard-rock prospecting can mean spending hours chasing signals that turn into absolutely nothing, and then suddenly you get onto a little gold-bearing quartz vein like this and it just keeps producing natural gold. Everything coming out of the hole went into a bucket to be panned later. I’m not leaving the smaller gold behind!! I honestly lost track, so I want to know: HOW MANY pieces of gold did you count?
