𝗠𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗞𝗲𝗯𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗛𝗲𝗹𝗱 𝗮𝘁 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗗𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗔𝗴𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘀𝘁 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗦𝗶𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗗𝗮𝗺 ADI NEWS A mass public meeting (Kebang) organised by the Siang Indigenous Farmers’ Forum (SIFF) along with affected local villagers was convened at the Parong (Dere) community hall. Hundreds of indigenous villagers gathered from neighboring areas, including Ugeng, Riga, Riew, Sitang, Sumsing, Geku, and surrounding belts. The community assembly focused on opposing the proposed mega-hydropower project along the Siang River. Community leaders and village elders emphasized safeguarding ancestral lands, indigenous culture, and local ecosystems, unanimously reaffirming their resolution to reject mega-dam initiatives in the region.
