The Destroying Angel | Porter Rockwell

Orrin Porter Rockwell was one of the most colorful and controversial figures of the early Latter-day Saint movement. A childhood friend of Joseph Smith, Rockwell became known for his fierce loyalty to the Prophet and later served as a lawman and frontiersman in the Utah Territory. Stories of his toughness, marksmanship, and daring exploits grew into legend, earning him nicknames such as “The Destroying Angel.” Behind the larger-than-life reputation, however, was a man whose loyalty to his friends and his faith remained a defining characteristic throughout his life. This song takes a spirited, frontier-inspired look at the legend and loyalty of Porter Rockwell. Every saint has a story. Because history remembers a few... but heaven remembers them all.
