WE ARE CALLED TO REFLECT THE WELCOME OF JESUS | Inspiration for Today Jesus welcomes the lost, the hurting, and those searching for a new beginning. In Luke 15:1–5, tax collectors and sinners gathered around to hear Him, while the Pharisees and teachers of the law complained: “This man welcomes sinners and eats with them.” Jesus responded with the parable of the lost sheep, revealing the compassionate heart of the Good Shepherd who goes after the one who has wandered away. “Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them. Does he not leave the ninety-nine in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it? And when he finds it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulders.” — Luke 15:4–5 This Christian devotional message challenges every believer and every congregation to reflect the welcome of Jesus. Reflecting Christ’s heart does not mean abandoning biblical truth; it means living biblical truth in the Spirit of Christ. The church must be holy, but it must also be hospitable. It must preach repentance, yet open its arms to those who repent. It must stand for righteousness without ever losing compassion. People should be able to enter the house of God and sense that Jesus is honoured and people are loved. They should hear God’s truth clearly and know that their past does not have the final word. In Christ, forgiveness is real, freedom is possible, and restoration can begin. Perhaps God is calling you to become part of that welcome today. Is there someone you have avoided, judged, or silently written off? Ask the Lord to help you pray for them, speak with compassion, forgive them, or invite them into a place where they can hear the Gospel. We are not the Saviour, but we are called to point people to Him. Be encouraged: Jesus still seeks the lost, receives the repentant, and restores those who come to Him.
