4/5) Hyper Light Drifter with @LucideityZero! Completing the main story! A shadow of myself w/o her!

Broadcasted live on Twitch on September 18, 2026 Today we wrapped up the story of Hyper Light Drifter! We finished the latter half of the final area, explored for a while, then ended by beating the final boss! It's been a journey! Ultimately I think I give the game a 6.5/10. Not my style of exploration, and its nonverbal approach just doesn't land for me - but to the right person, it's gonna be a transcendental experience! I'm glad that I played it with my good friend Lucid! Hyper Light Drifter is a well-beloved game for a reason! The combat is exciting and the art is beautiful! It doesn't fully land for me, though, because I struggle to understand what I'm looking at at times when "admire the thing you're looking at" feels like it's meant to be what I'm doing. It has a fascinating nonverbal technique of storytelling and game mechanics explanation that communicates absolutely nothing to my visual-processing-stunted brain. But the action is good, and when I can pick up a beat or two the environmental storytelling does feel masterfully crafted! Check us out on Twitch!
