FROM THE KITCHEN TO THE WELL: When Service Becomes Worship - Tuesday, August 25, 2026

Church Of Pentecost Women's Ministry - Delaware District Jesus is calling us women to LEAVE THE KITCHEN AND COME TO THE WELL. How many of us know how to serve, but have forgotten how to sit? How many of us know how to make sure everybody else is okay, but sometimes don't even know how to answer the simple question: “How are you?” What are you offering God? Service or worshipful service? In Luke 10 we see Jesus with two sisters. Two women. Same house. Same Jesus. Same opportunity. Two very different responses. Martha is moving. Mary is sitting. Martha is preparing. Mary is listening. Martha is doing. Mary is receiving. And then comes verse 40 says: “But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made.” And eventually Martha says: “Lord, don't you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!” Many of us are busy serving out of emptiness. We are serving from exausting and we are tired. We start serving. Then we get tired. Then we feel overlooked. Then we become frustrated. Then resentment begins to creep in. And eventually we start asking: “Does anybody appreciate what I do?” “Why am I always the one?” “Why doesn't anybody help me?” “Does anybody even notice?” And if we are not careful, we can take our frustration with people and put it on God. “Lord, don't You care?” Jesus is calling us to meet Him at the well. To drop everything and sit at His feet. To listen to Him and drink from His Living water. To fill our spirits and souls with Him and to return to the church, to the family, to the community and the workplace to pour out into others. Are you serving because you have been with Him? Are you giving because you have received from Him? Are you pouring out because you have allowed Him to pour into you? Are you busily working for God while neglecting your relationship with Him? Are you spending all your time at everybody else's well while neglecting your own? And perhaps the most important question: When was the last time you simply sat at the feet of Jesus? The Lord help us in Jesus' name!
