What if you could turn a simple plane into a programmable LED display - with thousands of individual LEDs generated procedurally in Blender? That's what I tried to build using Geometry Nodes. Instead of simply faking the pixels with a shader, I built a procedural system that generates physical LED modules, samples an image or video, automatically adapts the pixel resolution to the surface dimensions, and generates mounting rails for the LEDs. And yes — it can actually play video. Download Pixel Display System V1 — FREE: https://pixelbender.gumroad.com/l/uhigce Pixel Display System V1 is the first version of the Geometry Nodes system from this video. You can use it in your own Blender projects to create procedural LED displays, architectural LED façades, sci-fi screens, cyberpunk environments, digital signage and more. WHAT THE SYSTEM CAN DO • Generate individual LED/pixel geometry • Sample images and video • Automatically calculate resolution from pixel density • Adapt to different surface sizes and aspect ratios • Generate procedural mounting rails • Use custom objects as LED modules • Play animated image/video content ABOUT THE VIDEO I originally wanted to recreate the huge LED façades you see on modern buildings. I started with a simple shader approach, but quickly realized that fake pixels weren't enough — I wanted the pixels to actually exist. So I rebuilt the idea using Blender Geometry Nodes. The result became a reusable procedural LED display system rather than a single effect. Blender version: 5.2 V1 currently works with plane surfaces. When resizing the display, resize the geometry in Edit Mode rather than scaling the object in Object Mode. During development I also encountered inconsistent behavior when rendering animated image/video textures through Geometry Nodes. If you encounter corrupted animation frames, try testing the project in another Blender version or render setup. If you make something with Pixel Display System V1, tag @pixelbender_IN — I'd love to see what you create. More Blender experiments, procedural systems and environment breakdowns coming soon. — CHAPTERS 00:00 I Built a Programmable LED Display 00:40 The Easy Way 01:51 Making Fake Pixels 02:38 Building Real LEDs 03:06 Giving the LEDs Their Color 03:35 Adding the Mounting Rails 04:40 Making It Procedural 05:45 Making It Play Video 06:00 The Rendering Problem 06:50 The Final System 07:11 Pixel Display System V1 Music : Song: Extra Terra & Max Brhon - Cyberblade Music provided by NoCopyrightSounds Free Download/Stream: http://ncs.io/Cyberblade Watch: http://ncs.lnk.to/CyberbladeAT/youtube Song: Max Brhon - AI [NCS Release] Music provided by NoCopyrightSounds Free Download/Stream: http://ncs.io/MB\_AI Watch: http://ncs.lnk.to/MB\_AIAT/youtube Song: Dryskill & Max Brhon - War Machine [NCS Release] Music provided by NoCopyrightSounds Free Download/Stream: http://ncs.io/WarMachine Watch: http://youtu.be/
